The Western Cape country side is a timeless sight that will always be a popular destination for brides. Yet, it never seems to disappoint, just like in the wedding of Pieter and Linda who got married at Fairy Glen Big Five Safari’s. Not a destination often associated with the big five, but definitely one to keep in mind when choosing your venue. Pieter and Linda’s day was captured by Expressions Photography and it once again shows how important pictures are. Have a look and be inspired!
I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met.
We met at a fitness show 4 years ago and knew immediately this man was SPECIAL. My sister gave me his number to go with me – his friend gave him my number to ask me to go with him. Before I could sms him, he sms’d me. Having never met him,Ii took the chance and am happy I did. The next day went on a picnic at the Promenade. Butterflies in my stomach!! We got to know each other a lot better that day and have been together to this day when we both realised that we have a thing going STRONGLY…
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down.
Pieter got his dad’s Porche & booked us into a hotel for the week-end. Spoilt rotten all week-end, he said one morning ‘lets go for a walk. We walked on Lllandudno beach when he got ‘lost’ & when I started looking for him I found a bottle in the water with a message in it – suddenly he was behind me & dropped on one knee & presented me with the most beautiful diamond ring – asked me to be his wife. I was stunned, extremely happy, laughed and cried as I said ‘yes’. He swept me up in his arms and swung me around till we both fell happily to the ground – being so excited, he put the ring on the wrong finger!
The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day.
The most memorable aspect of my wedding day was the moment i walked down the isle with my mother as my dad had passed on a few months ago. The only placed I looked as I walked down the isle was into Pieter’s eyes, and held it till I got to the alter.
I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day.
That day I was most loved, most special, most beautiful and the happiest in all the world…
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides.
Remember it is not just your day but his day too. Forget about what can go wrong and concentrate on the 2 of you making special memories.
