Here is how the story goes…
I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met
We met 6 years ago in a small town called Ventersburg. At first it seemed like a pretty blond girl and a farmer boy in small town just getting to know one another at a friend’s braai, but it turned out to be a 5 year long-distance love story. We have been through tough times during my studies and the farming, but the moment finally came when I could reply: “yes, I’ll marry you” to Jan’s birthday proposal wish underneath a tree on the farm. Jan and I are ready for the life on the farm together and are thankful that the Lord has kept us close to each others hearts.
Bride & Prejudice | Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning
On the day of our wedding we had been together for 80 months and it is the best memory to know that I was getting married to my best friend and love of my life for the next 80 years. It was the first du Plooy wedding on my husband’s side of the family, witch made it extra special. We are a creative and hardworking bunch of women in the family, and I’m proud to say that from the start all the small detail, decor and final touches was hand made with love.
My Fair Wedding | Describe an event that you feel was unique
We had our very own “formal farm vintage wedding” with the sheep walking past the chapels window as we shared our first kiss as husband and wife. It was all smiles, hugs, tears and lots of love between everyone present. We both were so happy with everything looking absolutely pretty and spotless. We had our traditional farm feeling to fit the groom’s personality.
Don’t Tell The Bride | Reveal something that happened behind the scenes
Lets say nothing happened that could not have been fixed and I decided that everything that took a wrong turn just had to look like it was planned. My guests reported that just after the ceremony the wind almost blew the starter drinks off the tables and everyone had to grab and drink. Not that they minded to do so.
