Today’s beautiful wedding was submitted by Adele Kloppers Photography. The couple tied the knot at Skilpadvlei, surrounded by gorgeous yellow floral details. The bride’s breathtaking wedding gown included lace that came from her mother’s dress. How amazing and special is that?!
Congratulations, Jacques and Kika!
Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
We met in high school where we shared the same circle of friends. We’ve always liked each other but the timing was never right. I guess you could say ours is a classic tale of waiting to be on the right side of time, and patiently, after about ten years, our paths crossed, and we both just instinctively knew that this time, it was on our side.
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
Jacques took me on a romantic weekend getaway to Kolkol Mountain Lodge. So while I was taking a relaxing bath he transformed the room into the perfect “proposal ground”. As I came out of the bathroom, he was standing at the end of a candle walkway that led to a beautiful heart shaped photo collage of our best memories. Being a romantic person in general, I still didn’t get my hopes up for a proposal. He gave me some time to look through all the photos and when I finally turned to him, he got down on one knee.
And I said YES!
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
The moment that will forever be engraved in my memory was seeing my handsome husband looking at me in awe as I was walking down the aisle and how he hugged my dad as we reached the alter.
Describe your wedding day in one sentence
Our wedding day felt magical, real, grateful and completely blissful.
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
Take it all in. Every moment is so precious and it goes by so quickly. The day before and on your wedding day just let go of the control, you are surrounded by friends and family that are ready at your wedding disposal!
Enjoy the journey!
