Today we are featuring this beautiful wedding by Elri Photography. We just ADORE the décor, rustic meets modern, with rustic elements like hessian and lace, paired with gorgeous rose gold geometric accents.
Congratulations, Juan and Claudette!
Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
We met in a work environment where Claudette was doing some temp work for a friend and Juan was working as a sales consultant. Unbeknownst to Claudette, she was sitting in Juan’s chair and at his desk. He walked in and saw this stranger sitting in his place. He said nothing, the cat got his tongue. He didn’t stay irritated for long and by the end of the work day he’d changed his mind. The next day we went for a messy cranberry lunch and the rest is history.
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
It didn’t go down; it went up…up Signal hill. Juan got all dressed up in a suit as he knows Claudette likes a man in a suit. Juan drove us up signal hill despite a nasty cut on his finger. He put down the flap of the bakkie, laid out some snacks and drinks and then with the beautiful Table Mountain as a backdrop, he went down on one knee. Claudette obviously said yes and lots of passersby wondered what was happening.
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
For us both it was when Claudette walked down the isle. Juan was overwhelmed with happiness and Claudette couldn’t stop smiling. We were together for 8.5 years before we go married but we planned our wedding in a month, so it was the culmination of a lot of hard work and expectation.
Describe your wedding day in one sentence
An absolute representation of us and what we value.
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
As far as possible try not plan your wedding in a month ;) Remember to see the planning process as part of the journey and not as a burden. It’s fun and should be done together, that way the day is even more meaningful for you both.
