We would like to share an E-Shoot by Newly Bloom Photographic Boutique today. Rianka from Newly Bloom says:”I loved Natasha and Nicol instantly! We talked for almost two hours at our initial meeting and I was thrilled when they decided to book us for their wedding in September. They are the sweetest couple, fun, loving and still so in love with each other. Their engagement shoot was done in Potchefstroom, where they met and fell in love … this was so perfect as they reflected back on their first hug and first date. Their engagement shoot was such a blast and we are really excited to share it with you guys today! We just know that the wedding is going to be an awesome one and we are looking forward to it!”
Why do you recommend doing an engagement shoot
With most of our Wedding Packages we offer an engagement shoot option for the following reasons: We believe that doing an engagement shoot is important for the couple because it gives them the opportunity to work with us, to get to know our style and most importantly, for us to get to know our client. This shoot generally takes about an hour or two, where we get to see our couple interact with each other, listening to what they like about themselves (everyone of us has a side that we believe is more appealing to the camera: “our good side”). We focus on the couple so that their personality can come through in the photographs.
What do you suggest the couple to use their engagement photos for
Most of our clients use their engagement photos for their wedding invitations, save-the-date cards, and/or thank you cards for the guests on the wedding day. We often design thank you books for the guests with the e-shoot photos, where guests have the opportunity to write the couple little notes or messages. This way the engagement photos get used.
How long before the wedding do you suggest having the engagement shoot done
We generally try to book the engagement shoot for at least three months prior to the wedding. For couples who want to use the photos from this session for save-the-date cards or their wedding invitations we recommend doing the shoot early as the card still needs to be designed and printed.
Insider tips for engagement shoot outfits
Couples always ask this important question. The uses of the photos will probably determine the type of outfit the couple will choose. It’s always important to take the theme of the wedding into consideration when selecting your outfit. If you are planning a vintage themed wedding, we recommend wearing similar colours to the colour palette from your wedding theme. This will link the shoot to the wedding. The location you choose for your engagement shoot will also determine the outfit. A cute cocktail or summer dress is always a great place to start. For the guys we recommend nice darker toned jeans, a collared shirt and maybe a tie.
Any tips for choosing a location for an engagement shoot
We love taking the engagement photos at locations that are important to the couple or that have some meaning to them. This will range from the place where they got engaged, had their first date, or at a location where they love spending time together. By photographing at a location with meaning to the client, the photos will always mean something for them, and will have sentimental value for them.
