Today we are featuring this beautiful wedding by Tyron Mackenzie Photography. The pair tied the knot at the beautiful Corrie Lynn Farm in KZN. We love how beautifully everything was styled, and the cheese cake (no, really, it was cheese) was such a cute idea.
See for yourself!
Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
Think Ross and Monica from Friends where Monica ends up marrying Ross’s best friend Chandler, well in this instance Taryn ended up marrying Ross’s best friend Colin. Having known each other for years the sparks always having been there – it finally culminated in a long distance romance from JHB to Durban and after three months, as luck or good karma would have it, Taryn’s work took her to Durban where Colin was.
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
We got engaged after a wonderful weekend in Paternoster which ended off at Steenberg’s phenomenal restaurant Catharina’s, Colin choose the venue based on their love for Steenberg’s wine and fine food and the fact that the history of the vineyard is all about the super independent first female land owner in the Cape- Catharina. At the white bench outside the restaurant looking into the mountains Steenberg’s amazing staff led Taryn to believe that each couple who came for a romantic lunch had to open a fortune cookie looking into the mountains, that fortune cookie said “Taryn, will you marry me”
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Everyone had told us that the day flies by and that you should take a moment to be alone and just appreciate what all the planning (and spending) culminated in, so we took 5 minutes alone overlooking the dance floor to just be together and watch everyone enjoying our day, we may have had to steal a smooch every time someone came to interrupt us but that just added to the magic of that moment.
Describe your wedding day in one sentence
The best party we have ever been to.
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
Dont sweat the detail, no one notices the wrong napkins or the fact that your broken toe required you to wear cheap flat shoes instead of your super fancy heels – the day is about love (and good food -everyone remembers the food!)
Do as much as you can yourself and cut the things you don’t really need out, you will save a small fortune and be able to have the most wonderful honeymoon ( we did Italy and it was so worth not hiring decor or having all the extras you can get wrapped up in- instead we drank wine under the Tuscan sun in a vineyard and ate pasta most people have never heard of).
