Foiling is an old technique that was used on book covers before modern printing methods developed. This invitation by Chrystalace Wedding Stationery has foiling on the cover, used as a finishing technique to give it a vintage flare. Another element incorporated into this invitation is the use of textures, to add to its vintage feel.

One can also use translucent paper which reveals and hides certain parts of the invitation; this gives the invitation interesting dimensions and textures. View these photos of Izelle and Esbert’s beautiful wedding invitation as well as their Italian romantic wedding at Casalinga.
