Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
Like the typical old story goes, we have always ‘known of each other’ as we had close mutual friends. It used to be the standard smile and greet at braai’s until one night, in the early hours of a Tiger Tiger mission, did we really get chatting. Later that week, he took me out for dinner and Bobs your uncle. He fell inlove. Kidding. WE both fell inlove.
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
The day is an absolute whirlwind, it’s a day you dream about since you were a little girl. If I had to pin point one moment though, it would be the moment I was in Bellingan’s arms, dancing to our first song as Mr and Mrs. This was the most memorable moment for me, not only because it was our first dance, but because for a few seconds I looked over his shoulder and experienced a crazy amount of content and happiness by watching everyone surrounding us and being happy for our day and our future together. For me, that moment was the ultimate.
Describe your wedding day in one sentence
As Bellingan likes to say “grab a helmet, because your mind is about to be blown”
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
Relax, take it all in and cherish all the moments. Even the ‘bad’ ones. It is such an amazing build up and then the night is over in a flash.
Advice for before the wedding: do what you want. It is your day. Your day you’ve been dreaming about since forever. Don’t try please the millions. Just please yourself and your future husband.
Advice for the wedding night: Take your then husband, and stand back for about 10 minutes and just watch and observe your reception party and take in the happiness that surrounds you. We are so incredibly happy we did this. It is my 2nd highlight of the night.
Advice for after the wedding: Switch off. Switch off phones, laptops, iPads, everything. And just be with each other, reflect, laugh and cry about the wedding. It is a special something to bond over.
