Today we are featuring Saqib and Nusrat’s traditional Muslim wedding celebration. The couple’s preparation took place at the beautiful Irene Country Lodge in Centurion and the reception was held at the Kit Kat Convention Centre in Pretoria. We love the simplistic, yet exquisite red, white and gold decor and the bride’s traditional gown. Absolutely breathtaking! Thank you, Elize Mare Photography, for sharing this beautiful wedding with us. And congratulations to the newlyweds!
Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
The story of how we met isn’t your usual love affair, but is no less of a fairy tale. Our parents knew each other from way back in the day but somehow or the other Saqib’s path never crossed mine. Thus when our parents realised that we were both eligible to get married and arranged for us to meet, we were downright nervous about the type of person we would encounter. However, knowing that our parents love us wholeheartedly and that they would only want what’s best for us, we agreed to meet up…
THANK YOU MUM AND DAD! He was and still is absolutely charming! Surprisingly, we talked to each other so freely
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
He proposed a few months after, at my house in front of our families.
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
The moment just after we were officially married, when my new husband took my hand and lead me away for a few minutes, away from all the people, the cameras and the spotlight to take in that unforgettable day.
Describe your wedding day in one sentence
A beautiful beginning to an extraordinary story.
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
Take it as it comes. Lots of things won’t go as you thought it would and sometimes it’s just out of your control, and after months and months of planning even the smallest things will seem like a disaster, but at the end of the day it’s all about you and your prince charming so let go of the little things and just be happy.
