Naww, this wedding is just too precious! Today’s feature is Pieter and Janine’s wedding by Grant Betts Photography. We love the look and feel of this wedding, the décor compliments venue, Snowflake Potchefstroom, so beautifully.
Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
It was a blind date. My best friend is married to his best friend and they decided to play Cupid and introduce us. Luckily they were part of our dinner date and made the evening a little more comfortable and a little less awkward. That is when our wonderful journey together started.
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
I did a bride’s make-up that weekend and decided to drag him with me, as he had to go away for business the following day and I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. The venue where I did the bridal make-up was near Kievits Kroon in Pretoria and he impulsively decided that we should spend the evening there just to have a change of scenery and to relax. We decided to put on our pyjamas and have a movie marathon. I was still busy getting ready to do absolutely nothing when he decided to go down on one knee and ask the question. Not that romantic (as it was unplanned), but oh so perfect!!!
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
There are so many amazing memories, but the most memorable moment of our special day was the moment I saw my groom waiting for me before I walked down the aisle. I remembered taking a deep breath and telling myself that this is the best decision of my life. His face when he saw me and the look in his eyes when our eyes met shook me to the core in the most positive way imaginable. I was looking at my future and wasn’t more certain about anything ever in my entire life. My future husband was staring me right in the face and the love I felt was inexplicable.
Describe your wedding day in one sentence
One sentence that I can think of that describes our wedding day perfectly is one out of Ludwig van Beethoven’s love letters:
”Only by calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together.”
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
Remember, this is not just your special day, it is your partner’s day as well. Don’t get lost in the material aspects of what you think a wedding should be or to impress somebody who has nothing to do with your marriage anyway. The wedding is about the two of you and it is important that you enjoy it and remember and cherish every single moment. All people you have to impress are the both of you. Do exactly that.
