Philip and Inge’s special day took place at Mont Rouge in Tulbagh with the majestic mountains as their backdrop. We love all the beautiful autumn colours! Liesl Basson Photography captured all the special moments.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
We have actually been in the same group of friends for years, but in different circles. Then on my birthday 6 years ago, a friend of mine came to pick me up and Phillip was sitting in the back seat. We became swift friends and a year later on my birthday again, the courtship began- and the rest is just a awesome ride to where we are today.
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
It all happened at a Guesthouse I used to run the year we started dating. Phillip wrote this Black Jack computer game (and knowing how competitive I am), he said that he has only won 7 games in a row and of course I said I would like a try. Then as soon as I won the 10th game, the first song he ever sent me “Timing is Everything” started to play and there he was – one knee on the ground asking me to be his wife. (might I add, he even organised with my one bridesmaid that she took us for Mani’s – for her wedding trial – so that I had a perfect French Manicure – which I told him about years before)
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Goodness me, now this took some thinking, but that moment walking to him on the song that we chose “My Darling” and seeing him standing under the Hanging Willow Tree waiting for me. That took my breath away and queued the waterworks. Knowing that this was the moment everything to our forever has started!
Describe your wedding day in one sentence
The most beautiful setting in Tulbagh with the mountains as our backdrop – it was the perfect mix of family, friends, venue, food, and love – everything that we hoped and wished for and so much more!
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
Ladies, planning, planning and planning, the day feels so far away and then before you know it – you are a month a way and only halfway through your to do list. Luckily I had the most amazing bridesmaids that assisted where and whenever I needed. Also, involve your man – I found that mine enjoyed being part of everything. Best thing for us was our Venue – once we found the perfect hostess everything else fell into place. Most important advice I can give, is be present on your wedding day – there is so much going on that it is easy to miss the small moments of the day. Try to take note and remember those feelings and images of the BIG DAY – they are the butterfly moments that you will have for the rest of your life.
