Geneviève Fundaro Photography is about capturing a love story beautifully. With a name being so French Geneviève wanted to do a styled shoot that celebrated a la French. There is no better known French icon that Marie Antoinette; she exudes the French opulence and chic party crowd that filled the French Versailles palace. Although she was queen, Marie Antoinette was actually very young and this was what inspired the shoot. A young girl with her maids in the wonderful palace enjoying tea and cake, surrounded by opulence.
Our venue set the tone of French fun, the wonderful Illyria House situated in the hills of Pretoria. With its original French tapestries and furniture you would be forgiven for thinking you had left Pretoria for a French palace in the countryside. I chose great wedding suppliers who suited the theme and a great day was had shooting. Vividly Vintage set the stage with a beautiful table, in shades of blue, pink and red. Vonvé Bridal Couture showcased a beautiful ball gown wedding dress adorned with soft lace and jewels fit for a queen, this dress was set off by the beautiful and creative dresses of Immagika in shades of soft pink and purple for “Marie’s” maids in waiting. Makeup was done by the oh so sweet, Rocio, from Rocio Fashion Makeup and kept to the traditional French classic makeup set off with cute Heart shaped moles. A modern twist to the traditional French beehive was created for the hair and was done by Chantelle from Chantelle Hair Studios and Rose from Lasting Reflections. Amazing French pastries and a marbled cake by the Cake Cartel topped off with the famous saying “let them eat cake” which was created by the super talented Chrystalace Wedding Stationery, as well as all the menus, invites. The day was co-ordinated with the help of Shirley from Tiaras and Tantrums, whose support and ideas really helped bring the ideas together and ensured all the suppliers were in contact and ready to shoot on the day.
