Today we are featuring this beautiful Pepermossie wedding by Seven Quarters Photography. We just love the warm autumn tones and the beautiful décor, it is such a beautiful season to get married in, have a look!
Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
Louis and I met on the 11th of July 2015 on a blind date which was organized by my sister and a good friend of Louis’. They knew that my dream was to marry a farmer and Louis is one. I was single, Louis was single and BOOM, the date was organized. To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to this date at all, because who goes on blind dates these days?! I almost canceled! (Thank goodness I didn’t) .
When I first laid eyes on him, I got that little tingly feeling in my stomach. We talked and laughed as if we had known each other for years. We clicked immediately and we loved every second of our time together. Louis lived on their farm in Hopetown and I lived in Bloemfontein. We saw each other every 3rd weekend, but we made the time we had together count.
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
Louis and I did things a little differently as we already booked the wedding venue before we even got engaged. We knew that we wanted to get married and started looking for potential venues. So when we saw Pepermossie, we knew immediately that this is where we wanted to get married. We were fortunate enough to get Louis’s grandmother’s diamond as well as two diamonds from Louis’s mother so we designed the ring accordingly. Once the ring was made, Louis planned the engagement. He didn’t plan something extravagant but asked me to be his wife around a nice fire, with a glass of good red wine.
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
We loved everything and every second of our wedding! We were so blessed and thankful that we could’ve celebrated and shared all our special moments with our loved ones. But the most memorable moment of our wedding was when I walked Down the aisle and my eyes met his for the first time that day and the warm feeling of joy, happiness and love we felt; the moment when we made the promise before God, family, and friends; the moment when the pastor said, “I know pronounce you husband and wife.” THOSE moments were indescribable.
The venue, Pepermossie, is a beautiful vintage place surrounded by big trees, stone avenues and green lawns. The stone walls and chapel with transparent roof surrounded by big trees contributed to the venue’s rustic feeling. We got married on the 29th of April and it has been a true autumn wedding. The beautiful orange/yellow autumn leaves fitted perfectly with our color theme of burnt orange and burgundy. I am originally from the Eastern Cape, so proteas and fynbos were a must! The choice of flowers also highlighted the burgundy coloSir theme. Lots of greenery gave our wedding a natural feeling. I loved the vintage feeling of the venue and Pepermossie had all the décor our hearts desired. Outside on the green lawns, our guests enjoyed delicious pre-snacks, craft beer, and light cordials, while Louis and I were busy with the wedding shoot. When the sun set the bond fires crackled and immediately a warm and cozy atmosphere was created.
Describe your wedding day in one sentence
Our wedding has been the most magical, blessed and holy day of our lives.
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
Future brides, don’t stress! Stress takes away from your happiness. Everything will be just as you imagined it. The most important thing is that you get to marry the man of your dreams. The rest is of secondary importance. Cherish every little second of your dream day. Enjoy every moment and celebrate love and life! Be proud and thankful.
