Kyle and Chanel made memories at Memoire! Wedding Friends are very excited to share the wedding of Kyle and Chanel photographed by Joanne Markland from Cape Town. Joanne told Wedding Friends that this was her first wedding she shot in Johannesburg and we can gladly say that Joanne did a great job. Shooting the video for this lovely wedding was the well known Silent Video Productions who had a very creative day together with Joanne. The flowers and décor were done by Cafe Fleur and once again an awesome team of suppliers guaranteed the success of the day. Enjoy this wedding with us!
I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met or on how the proposal went down.
We met about nine years ago at the age of eighteen and we both knew that we had found our person. We met in a small beach town called Kenton-on-Sea. Kyle proposed to me on the exact same spot where we first got to know each other.
Bride & Prejudice | Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning.
My mom always says that life is made up of a collection of memories. So I decided to make boxes filled with gifts, to be used on the day, for the bridesmaids, fathers and mothers. I hand wrote each person a letter to be read before opening their gifts. It made the experience even more personal for everyone involved.
My Fair Wedding | Describe an event that you feel was unique or even funny.
Our wedding day was the best day of our lives! Kyle is a very emotional person and he was in tears when I walked down the aisle. I felt a strange sense of calm the entire day and when I walked down the aisle the only person I could see was Kyle. Words cannot describe the happiness we both felt. Both Kyle and I wanted our guests to have fun and share in our emotions on the day. Guests were treated to amazing food and we all danced the night away. Memoire is an amazing venue and Jaco made sure everything went off without a hitch.
Don’t Tell The Bride | Reveal something that happened behind the scenes.
Everyone says that something will go wrong on the day and the same was true for us. Our cake was not delivered to the venue in time. I had ordered a croquembouche to be cut and enjoyed with the canapés. Once we left the chapel my mom discreetly told me that the cake hadn’t arrived and that the vendor hadn’t contacted her. I was in such a happy place that nothing could ruin the day. I told my mom to call and cancel the cake, as we had to get all the family photos taken. My advice to future brides is to not sweat the small stuff. None of the guests even missed the cake as there were ample canapés and we had a selection of desserts later on in the evening.
No More Wedding Woes | Share your wedding advice for future brides.
My advice would be to enjoy the planning and create a day that is true to you as a couple. Getting married is one of the most important decisions of your life, so it is only fitting that the celebration should be true to you. Once the day arrives don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy being surrounded by all your loved one’s because it is a celebration you will remember for the rest of your lives.
