Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
Through mutual friends – who had booked a large table at the Newlands Bierfestival in 2012.
We got chatting, and formed a few connections strait away.
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
Vietnam – July 2016.
On holiday we took a 16 km long cable car up to the summit of Mount Fransipan, where we were about to pose for a photograph on the summit. As I was hurriedly preparing for the photo, I looked down to the rocks on my left – and there was Ashley on one (awkward) knee… and a tourist photographer taking a video of it all.
Ashley had chatted to a Kiwi couple before hand and set it all up.
Ashley created a really special and cherished moment, and REALLY surprised me. :)
The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Amy – The walk down the isle with my dad, with Ashley at the end, seeing me all dolled up in my wedding dress. Nothing prepares you for this emotional moment, witnessed by all those that you cherish.
Ashley – When I got a first view of Amy in her dress as she walked past the large window overlooking the wedding venue. That got my heart really going. And then as she walked down the isle.
Also giving my wedding speech, and seeing everyone that was there with us
